Paolo “Wolly” Valenti has left us.

WordPress pioneer, maintainer of WP Italy, organizer of BarCamp. Kind, cultured, helpful and polite person.

For those who are passionate about WordPress, working with WordPress, Paolo Valenti is a more than familiar name.

Paolo has had various entrepreneurial experiences and was Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria della Lombardia under the presidency of Giuseppe Fontana. In 2003 he discovered a new open-source software - WordPress - just born and fell in love with this type of license and with this software in particular and started keeping his own. WebLog. In 2005 he joined the WordPress Italy team, the official Italian team that deals with localizing in Italian and offering free assistance for this software. Since 2008 he has been organizing the WordCamp in Milan in May, a free event where we talk about WordPress, online communication and open source. He is one of the promoters of agendadigitale.org.

For some time he had been suffering from an ugly modern disease with which he lived with great serenity and dignity.

Developer, organizer, trainer, creator of events with a volcanic mind and a true pioneer of what would later become the most widespread and used CMS in the world.

We'll miss him.
